Accounts Payable Officer – Eagle Farm

The role

As an experienced accounts payable officer, the essence of the role will be generally familiar to you. Specifically, it involves following – or even refining – processes that ensure smooth, verified and timely data management and payments to suppliers servicing locations across Australia. It also involves coordinating remotely located administration officers whose support you will need, and who you will need to support in return.

Your responsibility extends from managing cash flow, payments and supplier relationships, through to data entry, reconciliations, reports, analysis, and report generation.

The role also involves the management of the corporate credit card and expense management system, along with internal accounting records and report preparation. 

Skill and experience requirements

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Minimum one year experience working within suppliers’ management and accounts payables environment / bookkeeping.
  • Competence and experience in the use of accounting packages preferably MYOB or similar accounting software, and MS Office, ERP systems. 
  • An understanding of accounting principles and internal control processes.
  • A commitment to achieving customer service of the highest standard with the ability to listen to suppliers and negotiate winning solutions.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, precise and accurate, particularly with data entry.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with confidence to deal with a range of stakeholders.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills particularly with Excel and Word.
  • Excellent time management, analytical, organisation, and reporting skills with the ability to draw insights out of data and to solve problems.

The industry is de-centralised and seasonal!
