About the Role

There is currently an opportunity for a financial accountant to join the team at our Gympie Office

As you’d expect, the role routinely involves:

  • Budget preparation, reviews and advice.
  • Month and year-end processes.
  • Regular Management Reports.
  • Provide support and guidance for accounts functions such as payroll, AP and AR as required.
  • Cost modelling and analysis.
  • Collation of information and verification of accuracy.
  • Liaising with others throughout the business to inform, assist and support.
  • Undertake other accounting and administrative duties as appropriate.

Beyond the basics, there will be opportunities to get heavily involved with strategic scenario planning, forecasting, financial and risk analysis, stakeholder engagement and influencing decision making as the business expands and diversifies.

Skills & Experience

You will need:

  • Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting or related field
  • Professional accounting designation (CA, CPA, CMA etc)
  • Experience in finance, accounting or equivalent in a commercial environment
  • Working knowledge of all daily accounting functions
  • The ability to build collaborative relationships internally and externally.
  • An excellent working knowledge of financial principles, processes, systems and governance.
  • Competence and commercial experience in the use of accounting packages and MS Office.
  • Comfort working hands-on or strategically, as appropriate.

A generous salary is on offer that recognises your skills, experience and contribution. On top of that, there is plenty of flexibility available. If you’d prefer to work full-time, you can do that over 4 or 5 days. Alternatively, if you’d prefer to work part-time, that’s OK too, and for either arrangement start and finish times have some flexibility too. The important thing is that the work gets done to a really high standard – how you manage your time it is up to you.
