The Role

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and negotiating solutions with customers.
  • Courteous, professional and prompt customer service.
  • Preparing or screening quotes as appropriate.
  • Leadership, supervision and development of office and yard teams.
  • Liaising with transport, finance and other divisions as appropriate.
  • P&L Accountability.
  • Ensuring work practices are legal, safe and ethical, with the intention of enhancing team engagement and wellbeing.

You will be mostly office-based, but you can expect site and customer visits would be required from time to time. There will be times you choose to be hands-on to help your team out – or simply to show leadership.

You

You will also be customer-centric with an innate understanding of what makes a business successful financially and reputationally. Familiarity with the hire industry or construction is desirable, but if you have experience in sales and customer service in a professional business to business environment, that’s a great start.

You will probably need to have successfully dealt with Tier 1 companies in one capacity or another, including building relationships and being involved in complex job specifications and requirements, tenders and so on. You will also be a champion for the brand internally, ensuring quality of product and service is always at the very high level expected by your customers.

Your track record in supporting and developing a high-performing team will be viewed very favourably. Our business grows as our team grows, it’s as simple as that. You will also be adept at working with other teams for coordination and support.
